Molly' First Teaching Gig

I just finished student teaching chemistry at Westview HS in Beaverton, about 20 minutes west of Portland. I really enjoyed my experience. The school seemed to enjoy me also because they offered me a part-time teaching position for second semester. So, this last week I began teaching algebra to freshmen. I can already tell it will be much more challenging then teaching chem: the students are younger, more bouncy and less focused generally. Also, I havent figured out how to make math fun. Any suggestions?

It will be sweet to get a paycheck- my student teaching lasted much longer than what BYU requires so I volunteered a ton of additional hours to the school. It will feel nice to now get paid for all the work I have out in. I am officially lisenced in both Utah and Oregon. Woo hoo! It just feels so good to be done!

I don't get it. Why is everyone's blog so much cuter than mine? How do you get the template?

Congrat Molly. You will be a great teacher, no matter what the subject. As for making math fun, um, I would try to get a science subject next year. (:
